Guernsey Island to Visit Elder and Sister Madden -Aug 13-16

Condor Ferries is the way to go for a three-hour ride across the English Channel
Sister Parker worried just a bit about the rain clouds and stormy seas as she gets motion sickness, but we had mostly smooth sailing all the way to Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Brownsea Island - Remember:  Lord Baden Powell started Boy Scouts here!

Castle Cornet view, Guernsey.  We visited the historic castle the next day.

Views as we traveled around the island - only five miles across at the widest point.

Dog carrying his skate board...

We ate dinner at the orange restaurant - Thai food.  When Elder Parker tried to pay the bill, the owner bowed with respect and would not accept payment as we were religious missionaries.  She graciously thanked us and kept bowing as we left.  She knew about our church and showed great honor and respect to us.  It was so touching...

Some of you may not know that Elder Parker has become a hair dresser on his senior missions.  He has done Sister Parker's hair color for two missions now, but you know Sister Madden is a good friend as she is letting him do her hair!  But don't expect to have him do your hair when we get home.  He says he is much too expensive!
